STUDENT SUSTENANCE ACT OF SPRING 2022

Relating to the purchasing of water and snacks for the student body

Be it enacted by the LeTourneau University Student Senate.

Short Title

Section A.

This act may be referred to as the "Student Sustenance Act of Spring 2022"

Appropriations

Section B.

1. A total of three-thousand five-hundred dollars ($3,500) shall be allocated from the Senate General Fund for compensation of the purchase of snacks and water.

2. All funds not used in this manner shall revert back to the Senate General Fund.

Effective Date

Section C.

This bill shall become effective 5 seconds after passage.

Stipulations

Section D.

The snacks purchased will be in accordance with the floor’s specifications (or lack thereof) as surveyed by members of the Student Life Committee from the floors’ respective RAs or senator(s). Snacks will be purchased by the Student Life Committee on a bi-weekly basis and will be available for retrieval at the AFSC by each residency’s respective senator(s).

Explanations and Reasoning

Section E.

Snacks (and water in the case of commuters) will be distributed to the appropriate floors by their respective senators (this includes the commuter lounge as a “floor” with its respective senators). This cost increase from last year’s bill is due to the increase in represented floors and snacks-per-floor ratio.
