How To Become A Senator
Please follow these steps:
Check our list of current senators (LETU sign in required) to see if there is an opening for your residency category (floor/commuter/apartments). A senator from any floor can represent their residence area as long as one floor/section does not represent 50% of the entire district.
If there is an opening, your floor must approve you via election and your RA must email the approval to the Student Body Vice President: lilithhancock@letu.edu
In the event of an election mishap, delayed membership, or other special circumstances, a petition with 5 signatures from your district sent to the Vice President can be used as an alternate means of joining.
Then a Senate Officer will contact you to have you introduced to the senate and sworn in. Then you may begin to serve God and your fellow students faithfully in the duties of the office of Senator!
Notes:
If you are going to be moving to a different voting district (see external list), make sure to campaign on the district you will live on next semester.
If you are in a paid IMPACT position, such as an RA or PA, you must receive additional approval of the Senate before you can be sworn in.
If you have any questions about the election process, feel free to contact one of our Senate Officers.
Thank you for your interest in pursuing this great opportunity!
