Explanations and Reasoning
Section D.
September 13, 2021, marked the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death. To commemorate this great writer’s legacy and impact on Christian tradition and thought, universities from around the United States such as Baylor, Notre Dame, UT Dallas, and Gonzaga are celebrating 100 Days of Dante. Through the Guild, students from LeTourneau University have the opportunity of joining in the discussion. Unfortunately, the current Guild funding limits the conference to only Honors and Guild members attending as part of a class. With support from the Senate, the Guild would like to make this opportunity available to everyone. We believe this is a great chance for the LeTourneau Senate to encourage an inter-disciplinary community amongst different majors. It will also allow STEM majors to participate in a liberal arts education.
