Relating to the sponsorship LeTourneau Student Senate Short Track Shootout event

Be it enacted by the LeTourneau University Student Senate

Short Title

Section A.

This act may be referred to as the "LETU Short Track Shootout Bill of Spring 2025"

Appropriations

Section B.

Student Senate will allocate five hundred ($500.00) dollars from the Senate General Fund, in order to host and be the title sponsor of the first ever LeTourneau Short Track Shootout. These funds will be used to cover the cost of renting 201 Kart Speedway, as well as the costs of trophies, snacks, and other miscellaneous items needed for the event.

Effective Date

Section C.

This act shall become effective upon passage.

Explanations and Reasoning

Section E.

Vice President Hancock is permitted to ride around in kart in Senate attire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a high engagement Senate event that could take place each semester or year. The event will be advertised beyond LETU to attract the local racing community to LETU kart races in order to stir up the excitement for the tentative construction of a track on campus, which could move the event to campus.
